The Assembly: Iron Man

Posted in Geeky, Movies on April 24, 2012 by bOOnsInG

Here I am once again fresh after watching the first Iron Man. I did however fell off into a very insubstantial nap. Eyes open and close, open and close. Not because the movie was boring, but rather I was and still actually am quite drowsy. I haven’t quite had sufficient sleep in recent weeks.

Moving on, Iron Man. Gotta admit it, weren’t a big fan before the movie was made. Barely knew the character, never read about him, never seen cartoons with him in it. Back then, all I knew about Tony Stark’s alter ego is the fact that he’s a man wearing iron. And that was all I had going into the movie, one of which I did not watch in the theater that year. Now what were my first impressions subsequent to watching the flick?

It was…..

FUN !

I remember having a real good time watching it. I very much enjoyed it. There were a lot of positives overall that should be admired upon and used as an example to future comic book movies.

One of my favourite elements that made the movie fun is that it was simply fun. And for a movie to be fun, it must have good pacing in my opinion. Good pacing is achieved when the pace of a movie is well balanced throughout the movie with quick and slow paces. This was leaning a little towards the faster pace. Though it had slower moments, but the pace was good enough that I didn’t feel it.

Besides being fun, Iron Man was successful in delivering an exceptionally decent story. More than often, movies with big bangs and explosions that are nothing but good old fun popcorn flicks are brain-dead movies with very bad storytelling. This was not the case. The story was in fact, very well developed and very well written. It has a good flow and progress to the story that the film does not bore me with plain reused action.

Another ace in the film is without even the slightest doubt is Mr. Robert Downey Jr.. Tony Stark could not have been casted any better because Rob nailed the role absolutely perfectly. He acts just like Tony, even when he is in real life. He is just like Tony. And he embodies the role of not just Tony Stark, but Iron Man as well. In addition to Rob, the movie overall had a very solid cast that is supported by Jeff Bridges and Gwenyth Paltrow. Lastly, Mr Samuel Leroy Jackson. Nothing much to say about him, just an honourable mention to our Nick Fury, agent of S.H.I.E.L.D

Overall, Iron Man is very good. Highly ranked for a comic book movie and much deserved as well for its effective simplicity. So how do I rate it?
I give it a very solid 4 out of 5 stars.

____________________________________________________________

Okay, back to business. A few person have requested me to update my stupid blog which I’ve not updated since the 10th of April. How I remember? Its the day after my birthday. Anyways, I’ve been lazy. Or, I have nothing to get off my chest. And now, I still have nothing much to get off my chest other than that on top of this post, and, my Kick-Ass review which is going to be the post after this. So unless you’re reading this IMMEDIATELY after I publish it, my Kick-Ass review should be up and running and kicking ass.

So, what will this post be about? I DON’T KNOW!! So, I will just write about today! Today is Monday, April 26th 2010 and the time at the moment while I’m typing this is 7:42pm. And, I really REALLY cannot believe that we are already coming to the end of April. Oh Em Gee!! WHOA! 2009 went pass in a Bart Allen(Flash) and 2010 is going much more faster. Which just makes me sad. Come to think of it, I’ve really wasted a lot of time doing countless of pointless things here and there and everywhere. It makes me sad when I think about the ‘real life’. And right now, it makes me scared to know that exams are just a stone’s throw away since time is going by in a Bart Allen. And, studies shall start tonight!

Moving on, today has been interesting.

  • I found out during assembly that the head prefect is required to give a speech during the Monday assemblies. He talked about ‘Love for your fellow schoolmates.’ Interesting….
  • I found out during my PE that I’ve really lost my touch in playing football and that I really suck in that game right now. Maybe I should stop calling myself Maxi?
  • I found out in the eleventh hour that I’m going to be in charge of the counters for selling tickets for ‘Movie For A Cause'(For more information, head on over tohttp://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=111331285566307) today in the canteen. It was embarrassing.
  • I found out in class that I do have a passion to emo in class. And so, I created my very own ‘Emo corner’ for me to emo out when I feel like it. It is located in between the teacher’s table and the two tables in front of the teacher’s table. It is a narrow space, but enough for me to sit on the floor, and emo.
  • I found out while he was relieving our English period, that one particular teacher whose name is not going to be mentioned out here, not only looks like a monkey, but talks and acts like one too. But, he is AWESOME!! *Ehem, maybe he’s SOMEONE’s brother. Hmmmmmm
  • I found out after school that I shouldn’t write about this here. So I won’t. But if you were there, you’ll know.

Oh yea! I almost forgot! I really wanna get this off my chest. The Vampire Diaries! In the Crossroads Podcast, the podcast dedicated to the hit television series, Supernatural, the host Ty had to watch Vampire Diaries. Inspired by him, I went and checked out the pilot. I went into this expecting it to be exactly like Twilight. And, it was almost exactly like Twilight. And that almost, made it sooo much better than Twilight in various different ways. So basically, its another show about emo looking vampire falling in love with teenage girls. But the story, is different and so much more interesting than that of Twilight. And the vampires of this mythology, is much more true. For example, they don’t sparkle when they’re in the sun. I won’t reveal what happens to them. So if you wanna know, check it out. Other than that, the vampires must be invited to go inside a house. I’m waiting to see the effects of entering without being invited.

Those were a few of the characteristics of the vampires. The story, revolves around this emo looking vampire and his motive of coming to this small town by the name of Mystic Falls looking for and befriending this girl called Elena. This is the basic premise of the show, I guess.
The acting of the show is SOOO MUCHH BETTER than, you know it. And they do have the horror aspects in the show. The pilot was good enough to capture my attention. The few following episodes, were going downhill. But but but, I’m still interested to know what happens next and I still have a small bit of faith in the show.

Overall, I like it. Its not a great show. Its not a terrible show. But its an okay show. Consider it guilty pleasure for me. And its not for everyone. But if you’re into Twilight, then you should be into this show. And if you aren’t, you might just hate it into the grounds. But so far, I don’t. I like it much more than a comedy, drama musical show by the weird name of Glee. And I shall make this public. TO ALL GLEEKS OUT THERE, I’M SORRY! I JUST CANT BRING MYSELF TO LIKING GLEE.

And now, I reach the end of another post. Who knows, it might be a highly anticipated one. Who would actually anticipated a blog post?? No one.

April So Far + Clash of the Titans

Posted in Geeky, Life, Movies on April 2, 2010 by bOOnsInG

2 days into April and I’m really enjoying it but there are a few very down moments jumble up here and there. But no matter what, I’ve had a lot of fun in the past 45 hours or so. So lets start of with Thursday. Tennis competition ain’t too long away. So me and a couple of my friends have been training early in the morning for two periods. So we played for two periods. Had fun. Back to class for history, nothing special. Had PE, had loads of fun until by the time we enter the class, recess had already concluded. And it was time for Chemistry. To the lab for Magnesium Oxide experiment to determine the Empirical Formula of MgO. Though it wasn’t a really successful experiment, had fun playing with lab stuffs. Then I was somehow forced into the debate team. I joined. But I wasn’t required to speak or anything. I did nothing. Basically, I went in there to kill time and enjoy the air conditioning and skip boring classes. Had fun. Went home, got ready for Clash of the Titans, my most anticipated film of the year. Full review coming up below. Once I got home, during dinner, something bad happened. Something very bad and sad. I don’t want to mention it here but trust me, I was not expecting it. And I went to Chemistry tuition where I learnt something very VERY FUN! Writing and balancing chemical equations. Ah, love them! And that’s Thursday.

Friday, was equally fun. Started off the day with another short tennis practice session, this time, in my uniform. By the time I came back, no teacher was in and by the time my additional mathematics teacher came in, it was too late for her to teach and therefore, we did not learn anything. No fun. After recess, its time for a Biology experiment. As much as I dislike the teacher, I loved the experiment. I’m a sucker for doing experiments. And a bad teacher made no difference to how much I like doing experiments. FUN. Once that was a done deal, I was suppose to go for debate since I’m suppose to be on the team as a back up or something, went up to that place and killed more time doing nothing. Nothing special. School finished. And thus, my long walk home began. In the end, I ended up at home ( well of course!) and cleaned myself. Filled up my stomach a little and went for badminton. FUN FUN FUN. That’s all I’m saying. Before going for tennis practice, had a couple drinks at the food court. And today’s tennis practice was AWESOME. I find that the morning practice for the past few days improved me. My service got more consistent. I’m very satisfied and I guess I will have to keep it up. And this doesn’t only goes to me. It goes to the whole tennis squad who are attending the competition. Especially YOU. You better not disappoint me. Stop crapping out giving walk over. Work up your ass and practice harder. I know you can do it. You’re awesome! And finally, here I am now, waking up from my nap not too long ago, trying to describe in words my past two days. It may not be as awesome as the days I spent in Melbourne, but its good enough to be two awesome days. And in 2 hours. A dear friend of mine is turning sixteen. So I’m going to wish him here right now.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR. DAVID LEE KE VINN!!!

Big boy already la now. And its not long till my turn. And, I’m excited to see what’ll happen.

Clash of the Titans

(SPOILER ALERT!)

Okay, Clash of the Titans is my most anticipated film for 2010. Simply because I loved the trailer, and both Sam Worthington and Liam Neeson are in it. My rule, is that my top two most anticipated film has to be seen on the opening day. I’ve establish this rule since last year. And so far, it hasn’t been broken. Clash of the Titans, initially I expected a full 5-star film. But watching the trailer one last time on the night before I was going to watch it, it looked like it was going to be a real fun movie and nothing more. So, I decided to lower my expectation for the film. I then expected a big fun movie that I can sit in the cinema and enjoy watching. 4-stars is what I expected. And, I set my expectations for this movie without using the help of RottenTomatoes. I was fresh going into this film.

As the film starts, it was awesome. Everything was good. But as things progressed, flaws started showing. I’ve never ever EVER watch a movie in 3-D before. So I have no idea how the experience is. But from this film, even in the 2-D version, I know that the 3-D is going to be stuffs being thrown at you. It happened at least 2 times. And everyone knows that stuffs being thrown at you in 3-D is a gimmick. Without watching it in 3-D, I’m sure there’s no need to for this flick.

Moving on with the storyline, it was okay until the end. The ending felt rushed. Wasn’t a fan of how the film ended. But enjoyed parts of the ending and I’ll state them out later. The acting, was strong. Most of the main cast members did their job. I had no problem with anyone’s acting. The only problem is that I expected more from Sam Worthington. He did his job, but to me, he was a little blunt. Compared to his two other blockbusters last year, I feel that this is his weakest so far. But even then, it was good enough. I expected a little more from him.

Things I really like about this film: The action sequences. The design for some of the creatures. Especially Medussa. I loved her. And thats pretty much it. I was a little disappointed with the Kraken. And was disappointed with the special effects. They weren’t that great. But overall, I really enjoyed this flick. So depending on the way I judge it, it could go from a good flick to an okay flick.

Final ratings. Enjoyment of the film = 4 stars. Technical aspect of the film = 3 stars. Overall, I give it 3.5/5 stars. It is a good popcorn flick. Get your popcorn, sit and watch and just have fun. That’s why we go to the cinemas right? For entertainment.

Superman/Clark Kent/Kal-El

Posted in Geeky, Life on February 27, 2010 by bOOnsInG

Superman has always and will always be my favorite superhero. And Superman, has been a common topic in my life for the past week or so. Lately, I’ve been trying to watch Smallville from the beginning. Absolute beginning. The Pilot. And up till today, I’ve made it up to episode 15 of Season 2. I saw 7 episodes in the last two days. And they were probably the BEST few episodes of the series. And in the whole run, there was only ONE ‘freak of the week’ episode. And yet, it was a very heavy mythos episode. So, AWESOME!

One intriguing thing for me in the series is the Clark Kent and Lex Luthor relationship. I’ve never read any of the comics. Even if I had, it was only a couple of issues. My knowledge of Superman came from the movies and cartoons. And watching the series and learning that Clark and Lex are best friends, it just didn’t feel right. And its obvious that someday, they’ll become enemies. One scene which got me up of my chair was from Season 1 at the end of an episode which I forgot which number. Clark and Lex were hanging out in the Kent barn and they were chatting. Lex busts out the line, “Trust me Clark, our friendship is stuffs made of legend.” I was alone that time. I got up from my seat and I yelled NOO!!! Like I bought into their relationship. I truly felt for Lex and as much as I would like it for them to not be enemies, I can’t.

Also, watching Smallville made me realize a few things. In the Superman universe, there are a lot of L’s. Lois Lane(that’s obvious), Lucy Lane(Lois’ sister), Lana Lang(Clark’s high school love interest), Laura Lang(Lana’s mum), Professor Lewis Lang(Lana’s dad), Lex Luthor, Lionel Luthor and Lara Lor-Van(Clark’s Kryptonian mother). I’m not too sure but I think there are a few more. I know, I’m a total geek. But that’s just in my nature.

Superman is also a recurring theme in school in my class. And I would rather not reveal why. But it has something to do with green. And as we all know, green is the colour of Kryptonite, Clark’s weakness. And so far in Smallville, Kryptonite is referred to as meteor fragments. Which is much more believable in my opinion because Clark has yet to visit the Fortress of Solitude to learn about his true ancestry. Back to the point! Green, is somehow related to a person in my class. Therefore, he is bullied with the term green, the Krypton from the periodic table, Krypton as in Kal-El’s home planet, Kryptonite as in the meteor fragments. I feel sorry for him.

Been busy lately. Wanna go watch a movie also no time and even if I do, no one would accompany me. =(
I need to watch Book of Eli! Its in my top 5 most anticipated of the year! AHHH!!

Chuck versus Operation Awesome

Posted in Chuck, Geeky on January 26, 2010 by bOOnsInG

Just like Supernatural, it took me a while to finally watch this episode last week. And I’ve decided to only watch all my TV series on weekends because of how tight my schedule usually is. Now, I managed to squeeze in some time to do something that I like to do on something that I like. Writing my thoughts on my favorite TV series. In this case, Chuck. In short, I loved this episode.

Spoiler Alert!

Brandon Routh made an appearance in this episode. And how was it? It was awesome! This episode is about the team trying to get Capt. Awesome back after he was kidnapped by the Ring because they thought he was a spy. They got him mixed up with Chuck.

So Act 1 is about the team trying to get awesome back. But in the end, he appears out of nowhere in the Buy More. The bad guys let him go because they need his help on something. So anyway, they went home and settle up things with Ellie in a very hilarious scene. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, then go watch the episode yourself and find out.

Act 2. Awesome have to fulfill the demands of the bad guys. In this case, to kill a CIA operative working in a secured building. And the Team agrees to guide him to fulfill the demands of the bad guys. Which brings up to my favorite scene of the entire season. With the cool music playing in the background, Chuck and Awesome comes out of the elevator and Chuck flashes and shoots down the guards in a very cool scene. Every time Chuck goes into full on spy mode, I love it.

So they meet Brandon Routh’s character. The bad guy wants Awesome to kill him. But Brandon Routh has a few tricks of his own and pretends to be killed and Awesome is safe from the bomb thing he has on his ear which the bad guys used to make him do as they told.

Act 3. Chuck finds a way to contact the bad guys from the phone that they gave Awesome. Chuck sends them to the Buy More and another hilarious scene of him trying to flash but in the end being unsuccessful. Blablabla Brandon Routh kills bad guys and everything goes great.

We also have the Buy More story of Morgan’s life as an Ass Man. His workers were turing against him and finally, Morgan found use his power to threaten the jobs the employees which made them to obey Morgan. And thats the episode.

A very good episode indeed. Favorite of the season so far. I love Shaw, Brandon Routh’s character. At the end of the episode, he took out a ring. If the character stays, he could develop. To a love interest for Sarah maybe. While still nothing much is revealed about Beckman’s secret. For this episode, I give it a strong 4.5/5 because I loved it. Nothing that I didn’t like. I enjoyed every thing and thats why its a 4.5.

Sam, Interrupted

Posted in Geeky, Supernatural on January 26, 2010 by bOOnsInG

Supernatural finally came back to your television sets last week. After a few failed attempts to appointing myself to watch it, I finally succeeded. And to be honest, I was disappointed. Why? Because it is a filler. A filler after the long hiatus. But filler or not, it was good to have Supernatural back on TV. Though I was disappointed with the episode, I had fun watching it.

SPOILER ALERT

Sigh. The only thing I was disappointed with this episode was the fact that it was a filler. But other than that, like I said, it was a very fun and enjoyable episode. Basically, Sam and Dean are in this mental institution hunting.

It was your basic classic hunting episode like back in seasons 1 and 2. Find the monster and kill it. In this case, its a wraith. And just like every other hunting episodes, there’ll be a slight twist in the story. And for this episode, it was very predictable. Like I knew it once it went towards that route. But with that being said, since this was a season 5 episode, it was as usual season 5 episodes, very darn hilarious.

Starting with Sam talking to the doctor at the mental institute about him being hunters and unleashing apocalypse while Dean interrupting(I guess thats where the episode got its name) that he had a hand in it just so that they could be admitted to solve this case. Besides that, there were lots of small humorous scenes. But the humor of the episode goes to pudding. Like I said in a previous post in my blog, I had to spit the noodles out of my mouth because of how funny that is.

We were also treated to a new character and probably a one time character who is in the mental institute, a hunter by the name of Martin Creaser. Apparently, he saved John’s life many times. But after a case in Alburqueque, he admitted himself into a mental hospital. And frankly, I wasn’t a big fan of his character. I had no problems with him. But just didn’t buy it.

Also, there were some very small character stuffs thrown into here and there. For example, Sam admitting he’s the reason they are in the situation they are in right now and it wasn’t because of Ruby, the Demon blood or anything. I was fine with it up till a point. Up to him saying, “I’m mad.” Like that felt very out of place for me.

And out of place is the perfect way to describe this episode. It was very out of place. And that’s my main problem with this episode. Other than that, good standalone episode. A good fun filler that you can put it in anytime and watch it and don’t have to worry too much about mythos stuff. I give it a solid 3.5/5

The Human Target

Posted in Geeky, Human Target on January 24, 2010 by bOOnsInG

The new CTV/Fox show based on the DC comic book character The Human Target who is otherwise known as Christopher Chance. Christopher Chance is like a private security guard. So the series so far is about people hiring him to protect people who are targeted for termination. And how’s the series? Its great. Both the Pilot and the episode following it were great. Fantastic series.

Why I like it so much? To tell you that, lets get a little spoilery.

SPOILER ALERT!

The series started with a very interesting monolog. It talks about blending in and stuff. But later on, you find out that its a guy talking on the phone to the police. Apparently, that guy was holding the people there hostage and he wanna kill the boss because he fired him. Blablabla lots happens and the police. So that guy lets all the hostages go but the boss. The boss somehow managed to escape and the guy there being tied to the chair was now Christopher Chance. And he gives this cool speech and finally took down the bad guy. That scene itself got me hooked to the series. I like it when the hero usually acts cool that he’s not scared of anything.

There are many other scenes that were totally awesome in these two episodes. But I won’t discuss it. I will however talk about Christopher Chance. My guess for the rest of the season would be a lot of filler and a lot of missions for Chance. While at the side, we also have this back story to Christopher Chance and how he became what he is now. So that’s what I think is gonna be for the rest of the season.

Other than Chris Chance, we still have two great characters. Winston and also Guerrero. Winston is the guy who will be pushed around and will always obey Chance and Guerrero. While Guerrero is the computer geek of their group. And Guerrero is my favorite character. Why? Simply because he is played by Jackie Earle Haley. And he’s awesome! To add to that, the introduction of Guerrero is one of the most badass introduction I’ve ever seen. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, go watch the episode.

Speaking of characters, what makes the character so good? The actors. Mark Valley who I only knew from Fringe did a very good job playing Chance. Jackie Earle Haley aka Rorschach aka the next Freddy Krueger plays Guerrero. And personally, its hard to find someone else take on that role. And lastly Chi McBride plays Winston. Haven’t seen him in anything before. But so far, liking him.

One more great thing about this series is that it feels like Sarah Connor Chronicles all over again. Fox produced show. Great pilot followed by a great next episode. And hell, it was scored by Bear McCreary.  And if you do watch Sarah Connor, the Human Target felt so much like the Sarah Connor score. Which was great! And that adds another reason to me liking this series.

So, what he hell are you doing if you haven’t check this series out?? Its awesome! It has potential to grow and its growing on me. Check it out. Give it a try. Its very well written.

What’s wrong with this world?

Posted in Geeky on January 23, 2010 by bOOnsInG

With the Spiderman franchise being rebooted, it means that all the cast members will be replaced. So far, there are many eligible candidates to play the role of Peter Parker. And let me just get this straight. If Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner or Zac Effron are ever casted to play Peter Parker, I will shoot myself in the head. And I’m dead serious. Number one, they cant act. Number two, the image of the franchise is ruined. Number three, I’ll be dead. So it brings only negative. Marvel Studios, Sony Pictures or Disney, I beg you to not do something stupid.

Sorry bout my little rant. I’m just a little pissed off. Moving on. Who should play the next Peter Parker? Who should play the next Mary Jane? Who should should play Ben and May Parker? For now, I’m moving towards Daniel Radcliffe. If he could get rid of his British accent, I think he could do a great job. Adrianne Palicki or Gillian Jacobs for Mary Jane! That would be interesting. And Dennis Quaid for Ben Parker! I love Dennis Quaid. However, he might be too young. But who knows.

Am I for the Spiderman franchise reboot? I know I’m giving out my thoughts a little too late, but hey, I’m have a new blog, so what the heck! Yes I’m for a Spiderman reboot. After the third film, I kinda lost my hope on the franchise and now that they are doing it, I’m happy.

However, there’s been talk about this reboot being all gritty and dark. I’ve also heard the same thing once for the next Superman film. I’m not liking this at all. Spiderman should never be done that way. That goes for Superman too. These two are suppose to be the happy and cheerful characters. Unlike Batman, where Gotham is a corrupted city, Metropolis and New York respectively in their stories are suppose to be happy and cheerful and therefore, these two films shouldn’t be done like Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.

So overall, I’m excited to see a new Spiderman. But I’m more excited to see a new Superman if they’re doing one. And I’m equally excited to see a sequel to Dark Knight. But I’m not excited so far of what I heard quite a while back about the Justice League film. Neither Brandon Routh or Christian Bale were casted for it. Only unknown teen actors were. Therefore, I’m not excited at all.

My hope if they are going to do a Justice League film is this. Brandon Routh as Superman. Christian Bale as Batman. Ryan Renolds as The Flash. Brian Austin Green as Green Lantern. That would be the most perfect cast EVERR!! I heard it from the Round3Show by Steve and Derek and I totally agree!

Goodbye Old Friend

Posted in Geeky, Heroes, Life on January 19, 2010 by bOOnsInG

As I promised, I’ll be writing multiple reviews for things that I’ve been watching for the whole week.

But first, let me express my goodbye to one of my great friend, Vinesh Vasan Vincent. Well, we’ve been good friends since we were in Standard 2(8 years old). I still remember the first ever day I met him. He was transferred into our school from a different state and on the first day, he brought this cute bag which I adored back then. He looked like this innocent little kid but when the teacher asked us to take out our exercise books, his cute big bag was totally empty and if I’m not mistaken, the teacher punished him.

Flashing forward 8 years later, we did a lot together. Such as playing football, hanging out, and watching movies. He taught me a lot, teased me a lot, joked with me a lot and just had lots and lots of fun. Its been a real pleasure meeting him and just having so much fun together. And now, he’ll be going away to the Royal Military College in KL. I was encouraged by my cousin to go but I turned it down because I knew its gonna be though. But now with him going, he kinda inspired me to go too but I just cant. And therefore, I’ll have to say goodbye to a great guy. Though, I will be seeing him till Friday. But just a quick early goodbye. Hope you’ll remember my friends and I and all the fun we had together. Its been great while it lasted. But, there’s nothing we can do. Soon, I’ll have to say goodbye to all my other friends.

So to Vinesh, have fun at RMC making new friends but don’t forget your old ones. We’ll meet again during the holidays.
_________________________________________________________________________

So anyways, as I promised, lets get into some reviews.

First of, the return of Chuck.

Without spoiling anything, just wanna say that Season 2 ended with a BANG!! Huge game-changing finale for Season 2 which got me so pumped up and I expect a very good season 3. Then, they don’t know if they were gonna return for Season 3. Hopes went down. When season 3 was announced, hopes went real high. When I saw the promos, I had the bar set up to the highest for season 3.

SPOILER ALERT!!! Read at your own risk

I expected Season 3 to start with Chuck being a real spy and completed his training. I expected him to be in a real relationship with Sarah. And when the season 3 premiered, the starting was exactly what I wanted. Until I found out it was a training. And as the story deepens, We find that Sarah, had invited Chuck to runaway with him but Chuck didn’t because he wanted to become a real spy and save the world. Then their relationship is back to Chuck loving Sarah and Sarah not quite loving but loving him and its been the same thing in the first two season and it pisses me off. Its just reusing the same old storyline except Chuck is more skillful and his skill won’t work all the time.

However with that being said, I do like the fact that Chuck has evolved into a much more better and much confident spy. Though he still has the ‘Chucky’ geekyness in him. I’m fine with that. And we’ll also get to see him training and developing his skills which brings more character development. I like that too.

Back at the Buy More, Emit was killed! That was SHOCKING!! It blew me away when he was shot just like that. And Big Mike is back to his old pose. Morgan is back from Hawaii and quit being his chef and basically its back to Season 1 and 2 stuffs. Which as I said, I hope they don’t over reuse that storyline. And I hope they don’t bring in another douchebag working in Buy More and pushing them around like Emit and Harry because that’s been done already. I do hope that Jeffster would return for another performance.

And the last thing. Awesome and Ellie had moved out from Chuck and now Chuck is living with Morgan. As we all know, Awesome knows that Chuck is a spy. And I have a great feeling that Awesome will soon play a big role in the season and one more person is gonna find out. Also, I get the feeling that Awesome’s gonna bite the nail sometime this season. Hopefully he doesn’t but it seems like he’s gonna some day.

So overall, I enjoyed the return of Chuck because its been so long. I enjoyed little subtle things. But they could’ve done better. With the game-changing finale last season, I wish that they had done more than this but instead, it feels like they’re reusing the same storyline. But hey, we can’t always get what we want rite..
_________________________________________________________________________

Also, there was a new Heroes episode last week. So far I’ve only watched it once because I’ve been busy and hadn’t found the time to rewatch it yet. And in short, it was good! Enjoyed it more than the two episodes before.

SPOILER ALERT

Just giving my brief thoughts on Close to You. Not a full in depth review. Scenes between Emma, Peter and Angela were very good. I really enjoy the character Emma and from this episode, we learn that Emma is suppose to play a big role in the carnival which is killing a lot of people with a cello. Peter tried to warn her but it didn’t work and Emma seemed to got more angry. So in my opinion, Emma is gonna start hating on Peter and soon, she’ll finally breakdown and decide to join the carnival. And at the same time, Peter will try to convince her not to and sooner or later he’ll too end up in the carnival.

The Hiro, Ando and Mohinder scenes in this episode were good. Much better than the previous one. I’m glad that they solved the problem with retarded Hiro and the way they solve it was cool. The scenes were pretty funny and I liked it.

Noah and Matt were probably the highlight of the episode. Noah was trying to get to Samuel and he tracked down Vanessa, Samuel’s lover. And when he does, he calls on Matt to help him convince Vanessa to help them and in the end he did. Then things got intense when Samuel came in and took Vanessa away to the carnival. Noah placed a tracking system on Vanessa and he and Matt followed them and they disappear all of a sudden into the carnival. So its finally revealed and confirmed that you can only enter the carnival with the compass. Or else, you have to be invited to do so.

Overall, a great episode which gives out a lot of answers but at the same time, asks a lot of questions. Questions that I hope would be answer in the last few episodes of the season.

So thats it for reviews. More reviews coming in later this week including my thoughts on the first season of Smallville. Yes, I’m finishing it by the end of the week. Besides that, I’ll be watching the new Fox series The Human Target because it is recommended by two of the greatest podcaster ever. Also hopefully, I could finish the Lost Symbol by then. But for now guys bye!
